Le Cor Tag

In late September we made a trip to Barcelona and of course we had to pay „24 Kilates“ – the city’s premium sneaker store – a visit. Located in the multicultural, vibrant „El Born“-district the shop gets the finest releases and most collabs. The guys are also well known for their own projects with brands like Asics, Saucony and New Balance (to name only a few). Only some weeks after our visit a new collabo with France’s Le Coq Sportif and their „Flash“-model got our attention.

It’s definite hard to overlook their newest creation. The red upper is really eye-popping as you can see from our pics (no saturation needed). Digging deep into the great history of that french brand that somehow got forgotten here in Germany, the colorway pays tribute to Le Coqs original collection and the tricolore. They are obviously close ties between those two countries. And french tourists seem to love Barcelona.

We love the „Flash“, a model that also Australias „Sneaker Freaker Magazine“ choosed for their maritime summer collabo some months ago. And as the „Summer Bay“ this red rocket is pure heat for your feet. We particularly like the mix of materials, very soft mesh and nubuck leather and the high quality of the final product. Le Coq Sportif seems to keep more than one eye on the manufacturing process. This Flash is by the way „Made in Vietnam“ but instead of some shoes from other labels, they are no signs of glue or other visible flaws. You can neither criticise the Flash’s shape. It’s obviously much better than that of most retro releases.

What the pictures can’t tell, is how comfortable these shoes are. Once on your feet, you don’t want to take them off – believe me! Besides that they run a little small (half size), so take this in mind before making an order. The fresh baby blue outsole is just the icing on this sneakerlover’s cake. Now all I need is some better weather. I think that’s the big advantage of Barcelona over Cologne. Am I right?
